"Although not a 'listed' building, the church does have a number of interesting and attractive features including some beautiful stained glass windows. The small 'rose' window high above the pulpit featuring a dove descending is always admired. These have been retained in the recent extensive refurbishment. "

WILSON, W: 3-l East window with crest of bank and coats of arms, 1953. Signed and dated by artist. Curiously, this window has been "updated" twice. In the early '80s, Barclays took over the bank and added their insignia. Later on, in 1995, it was changed again, adding the crests of the last 2 governors of the British Linen Bank. Illustrated.

"Note: these 5 windows were made for and presented to St Giles' Cathedral Boys' Club (in Gullan's Close, Canongate); this club became the Canongate Boys' Club, and the Club later removed to Panmure House (almost adjoining the Kirk). As there is no Chapel in the present Club, the windows may be moved to another building." Russell, 1972.
