LOCKERBIE

  • TOWN HALL
CLARK, J:
Memorial window ("A Memorial and not a Reminder") to victims of the plane crash in December 1988. In Lesser Town Hall (upstairs; used as a temporary morgue after the disaster) it was commissioned by Scottish Metropolitan in 1991 as a gesture to the people of Lockerbie.
Given it's "just a bunch of flags", it's surprisingly effective - and all the people to whom we spoke about it in Lockerbie knew of it and were proud of it; unusual for a new window. Illustration coming when I get the film back...
