Theme of Victory through Sacrifice, with Greek letters ICXC - NIKA, Jesus Christ Conqueror. At base shows, as well as the badges of the three fighting services, that of Air Raid precautions, due to the tragic loss of an entire Aid post in 1941. Signed 1954. STRACHAN, D: East Window, "Christ enthroned: His universal dominion", 9 lights plus Tracery. Lower lights show St James holding the seal and St Mirin holding a model of the Abbey. 1931. South wall of Choir, second from East, on the theme of peace, with Christ stilling the tempest. A cemi-circle of dragon-like figures symbolises the turbulent winds. Angels give promise of protection and shelter the figures of Mary and the Child. The figures nearer the base may be interpreted as a prayer for universal peace. The North is represented by a reindeer, the West a hammer, the South a basket of fruit, the East a leopard and a lotus. 1932. Illustrated. WEBB, C: West window, St Mirin's Aisle.
